Rodney Loren recently moved to Connecticut from San Diego, CA following early retirement from university teaching, public school music, and being church organist in Milwaukee, WI. His earned a B.A. in music education and church music from Olivet Nazarene University, an M.M. in Organ from Indiana University, and Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Illinois. He taught general/vocal music at a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon school, and on the faculties of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and University of Illinois, teaching courses in music education and technology. A writer of educational integrated arts curricula, Rodney has had the opportunity to study abroad as Fulbright-Hays scholar to Hungary and the Czech Republic; he also had a rare opportunity to play organ for Easter Monday services at St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City. He is grateful for the inspiration and influence of his mentors, notably, Eunice Boardman, Mary Hoffman, and Marilyn Keiser.
