Nursery
Welcoming newborns through 5 year olds, our nursery is a joyful place on Sunday mornings!
We are blessed to have an experienced, nurturing employee, Lucia Sato, leading our nursery. Lucia pours her heart and soul into this ministry. Last year, Lucia celebrated 20 years serving little ones in our nursery!
On Sundays, parents drop off their young ones with Lucia as early as 9:45am, and then make their way to the sanctuary to enjoy worship at 10am; parents pick up their children after the service ends.
At WPC, we have a unique arrangement in that we share our nursery and church school with St. Matthews Episcopal Church across our courtyard; this set-up multiplies the fun and the ecumenical spirit we share.
Lucia takes time to plan lessons, crafts, and yummy snacks for the children, and often, their hour in the nursery is the experience young children most look forward to on Sundays.
We consistently notice that children have positive associations with church when they “graduate” from the nursery and move on to join church school in kindergarten.

LUCIA SATO
About herself, Lucia writes:
“I have been blessed by being able to teach in the nursery for 22 years. I grew up here in Wilton and have been going to St. Matthew’s for most of my life. After confirmation, I was asked to start working in the nursery. Being able to teach in the nursery seems like a small thing but it has a huge impact. I love watching the little ones learn and think as we tell them the stories of God and Jesus. When I am not at church, I am working with my dad at our hardware store in Wilton Center. When not working, I love to hang out with my dog, bake and cook, or go rock climbing.”
