What Holds Us? Feet, Fellowship and Faith
Saturday, October 12
We are thrilled to invite women of all ages to join us for an overnight retreat; we will pause from our everyday routines to nourish our inner spiritual lives and make meaningful connections with new and old church friends. All are welcome! This would be a lovely time to invite a friend who doesn’t attend WPC.
Our retreat will take place over Columbus Day weekend, beginning at 11am Saturday, Oct 12 and ending the next day at 11am, Sunday Oct 13. We’ll return in time for you to enjoy the Monday off. We will be staying at StonyPoint Center, a Presbyterian retreat center in the Hudson Valley, about an hour and fifteen minutes from church. The cost per person is $230, which includes one night in a double room and 3 meals (single rooms are available for an additional fee). Scholarships are available if needed—if interested, please reach out to Rev. Jessica Jones or Alison Wood. Final reservations need to be made by September 28th.
The theme for our retreat this year is: “What Holds Us? Feet, Fellowship and Faith.” Together, we will explore how our feet, our friends and our faith help us stand through life’s difficult times. We are excited to welcome massage therapist Lenore Briones, an educator of movement and the human body and licensed massage therapist specializing in orthopedic conditions related to athletes. Lenore will be leading a session for our group and will also be available for optional 20 minute foot/ankle massages.
Through prayer, sharing, spiritual exercises, campfire singing, labyrinth walking, breathing meditations, craft projects and walks in the woods, we will come away with hearts full and spirits fed. Please check in with Rev. Jessica Jones, Becky Shroyer, or Cathy Thomas if you have questions or would like to join us.
