Mission Overview

WPC has been dedicated to hands-on mission work since its inception, thus mission activity and the overseeing committee are referred to as Church in Action.

WPC members are engaged in many activities during the year. Some of these are the series of working team visits to the Mississippi Gulf for volunteer work so needed following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Americares Homefront Project, Habitat for Humanity in Bridgeport, the Manna House in Norwalk, and Project Return in Westport.

For more than 25 years, WPC has sent a group of adults and youth to rural Maine for a week long effort to refurbish and build new housing in area hard hit by economic decline.

WPC has also financially supported needs beyond and in our local area. An example of this is the aid provided to the Children's Rescue Mission in Honduras and our own children here at home in Fairfield County through the adopt-a-church program of Covenant to Care.
